Life With No Limits
Making life easier for people with additional needs by adapting the technology they already use so that it functions better.
Computer Needs Assessments, conducted at home or work, to discover innovative solutions to everyday problems. This assessments are typically used by Not for Profit organisations supporting individual needs with additional needs. Individuals may hire us for this service directly if they wish.
Often all that is needed to make a massive change in someone’s life are adjustments, training and the installation of free or low cost computer accessibility tools.
And our environmental approach to recycling and reusing technology completes the circle of making life easier and safer.
There are a variety of challenges faced by people with disabilities. The primary concerns are with the input and output devices such as the keyboard, mouse, microphone and screen.
Adaptive hardware and software have been developed to provide alternatives to the standard devices available in the High Street shop or mainstream online stores.
The computer, or laptop, could be the route to independence for millions of individuals with physical disabilities, visual and auditory impairments, other sensory challenges and learning disabilities.
People can live healthy, productive, independent and dignified lives with the help of technology. Research shows that technology reduces the need for formal health and support services.
Preventing digital exclusion for disabled users is our aim.
If you need help with computers, laptops, gadgets, touch screens, screen readers, accessibility settings, screen keyboards, screen magnifiers, mobile phones or tablets at home, work or university Tech With No Limits are here to support.
We fully support the individual on their journey to digital inclusion and the organisations who offer assistance.
We offer our clients a needs assessment to uncover what adjustments or additions need making. We are either commissioned by the end user or by an organisation supporting them. Here is an outline of the computer needs assessment.
Via a home visit or video call we listen to the users, or their family, to understand specifically where help is needed
We visit the user's home or workplace to perform the initial technology needs assessment
We provide an easy to decipher outline report which lists either the most appropriate new technology, or adjustments to existing technology, to make the biggest transformation.
We make some initial recommendations needed at home or in the workplace.
We provide a full evaluation report, including fees, to the user or the agency supporting them
We install any assistive technology devices, accessibility software, specialist hardware or specialist software. We also train the user, and members of their support network if needed, to set up their personal preferences on each device.
Some software platforms and hardware providers are releasing more and more accessibility features. However, finding them and learning how to use them is a barrier to some. We help every step of the way discovering and using these accessibility features and when needed, find out of the box answers if there isn't a proprietary solution available.
